St. John's Greek Orthodox Monastery & Bakery

St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery, established in 1995 in Goldendale, WA, was founded through a generous donation of 48 acres by local Doctor Gerald Timmer. The monastery has grown to include 20 nuns and novices, dedicated to prayer, spiritual guidance, and preserving Orthodox traditions.

Self-sustaining through the handiwork of the sisters, the monastery specializes in traditional Orthodox crafts such as writing Byzantine icons, knotting prayer ropes, and baking authentic Greek pastries.
