St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery, established in 1995, is a women's monastic community located in Goldendale, WA. Founded through the donation of a 48-acre property by local Doctor Gerald Timmer, the monastery has grown under the guidance of Geronta Ephraim, a prominent priest-monk from Greece.
Home to 20 nuns and novices, the monastery focuses on prayer and spiritual guidance while preserving Orthodox Church traditions through their artisanal crafts. Great place to pick up some baklava and a cup of coffee. The pastries are fresh and home made. They have some great bundles and easy to pack and carry for the remainder of the road trip.

Stopped here on the way north. Got a spinach Horiatiki and a Galaktoboureko for the road and both were excellent. Stopped again on the return for a greek coffee and took home Moussakas and Dolmas....
