Karla L. Miller, M.D., is associate professor in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Utah--Department of Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico-School of Medicine, and completed both her internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She is a rheumatologist whose focus is the management of patients with glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Dr. Miller offers consultative services for osteoporosis management including bone density testing, interpretation, and clinical assessment, in addition to her general rheumatology practice.

After completing her medical degree at the University of Chicago, she moved to the University of Utah for her residency and fellowship in complex family planning. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Kaiser is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. She is the Ryan Residency Program Director and the Director of the Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic. Dr. Kaiser’s research interests are varied and include novel contraceptives, miscarriage management, surgical education, and the history of women’s health. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and camping with her family, knitting, and cooking.
