Dr. Gary Nelson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah. He is a general child neurologist and sees patients with any neurological concerns. He has special interest in pediatric stroke, quality improvement, and inpatient and critical care neurology. Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine after completing undergraduate training at Brigham Young University. He completed a Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Neurology fellowship at the University of Utah. He is board-certified in Neurology (with special qualification in Child Neurology).

Frederick Welt, M.D. is Vice Chair, Clinical Affairs, Dept. of Medicine & Chief, Interventional Cardiology. He is a professor of medicine and a member of the Interventional Cardiology faculty. Dr. Welt most recently served as the Director of Interventional Cardiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, as well as Director of the Interventional Cardiovascular Experimental Laboratory. His clinical practice included outpatient clinical care and performing diagnostic catheterizations and coronary interventions. Dr. Welt graduated from Yale University School of Medicine in 1992 and completed residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He also served as Chief Resident at the West Roxbury VA Hospital and completed a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. In addition to practicing and teaching at BWH and Harvard, he has written numerous journal articles and served as a reviewer for publications.
