Dr. Rahimpour’s research, supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), focuses on leveraging intracranial human recordings to better understand cortical-subcortical interactions involved in neurological diseases and human behavior, with a particular emphasis on epilepsy, movement disorders, and chronic pain. Through this research, he aims to enhance clinical outcomes by improving the understanding of underlying neural mechanisms. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Colorado and completed his neurosurgical residency and fellowship training in stereotactic, functional, and epilepsy neurosurgery at Duke University.
