Todd Purkiss, MD, PhD

Dr. Blake A. Isernhagen, MD graduated with Distinction from The University of Oklahoma, completing his Ophthalmology Residency at Dean A. McGee Eye Institute, and advanced Uveitis and Retinal training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He finalized his Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at the University of British Columbia as the William H. Ross Fellow, and now actively engages in uveitis and retinal disease research, lectures, teaching, and overseas eye care missions.

Dr. John W. Kitchens, MD, a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, served his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and was the Chief Resident at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. A recipient of the “Rhett Buckler” Award, Dr. Kitchens specializes in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic vascular disease treatment, also making significant contributions to retinal surgery innovation.

Specializing in medical and surgical management of retinal disease due to diabetes, the leading cause of vision loss in working-aged adults, which significantly affects quality of life and global productivity. Engaging in meaningful doctor-patient relationships for effective chronic disease management and good medical care.
