Misty Phillips, MD, FAAP, is with Springfield Clinic’s Pediatrics Department, seeing patients at the Springfield Clinic Pediatrics facility in Springfield. Dr. Phillips joined Springfield Clinic in 2007. Dr. Phillips both earned her medical degree and completed her pediatrics residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. “I see mostly well-patient visits, so a lot of my time is spent talking to families about how to prevent illness or accidents,” says Dr. Phillips. “We understand where they’re coming from with their questions and that everything that they’re asking about is very important to them. So, I want to make sure they understand that it’s important to us, too, and that we’ve taken the time to spend with them and their kids.” Dr. Phillips sees children of all ages. Dr. Phillips is a mom and a pediatrician. She says having this firsthand experience helps with her job every day. "A lot of people ask a question that you don't read in a medical textbook," she explains. "Sometimes I think you can answer it with more expertise if you've gone through it yourself." In her free time, Dr. Phillips enjoys spending time with her family by visiting her daughter at college and supporting her sons at their baseball games. Dr. Conlon is one of only a few hundred board-certified pediatric dermatologists in the country. He and his team are dedicated to the care of children and teens with skin conditions. They understand that children and teenagers have unique skin conditions, and they tailor treatments to work best for them. He works closely with family practitioners, general pediatricians and other pediatric sub-specialists in the area. Dr. Conlon also maintains collaborative relationships with many pediatric dermatologists throughout the country. He often shares cases with them to maximize your child's care. Together, Dr. Conlon and his team will strive to help your family understand your child's skin condition and how best to manage it. A native of Springfield, he attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He was selected by his peers to become a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in his third year. Dr. Conlon completed his residency and fellowship training in pediatrics and pediatric dermatology at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and an additional dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. While there, he received honors for his clinical expertise and teaching abilities. He remains active in the Society of Pediatric Dermatology and is a reviewer for the journal Pediatric Dermatology. His extensive training allows him to understand skin conditions unique to each age, how they affect your child, and how to best treat them (both safely and effectively). He has knowledge and experience in the use of topical, oral, systemic and biological therapies in children. It is important to Dr. Conlon that children and parents are listened to and that their questions are answered. His staff works with families as a team to make skin care as pleasant as possible for both the children and parents. Dr. Savage is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin and completed her medical training in Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Her scope of practice involves all areas of pediatrics, from newborns to college-bound adolescents. Special areas of interest include well baby/health maintenance and anticipatory guidance, behavioral/mood disorders, allergic rhinitis and asthma, as well as a variety of acute illnesses and their treatment. A native Texan, Dr. Savage moved to Illinois in 1995 to start her practice with Springfield Clinic and raise her family. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She thoroughly enjoys the changes of the seasons here in Illinois and the friendly "small town" atmosphere of Springfield and its surrounding communities.
