Dr. Phillips both earned her medical degree and completed her pediatrics residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. “I see mostly well-patient visits, so a lot of my time is spent talking to families about how to prevent illness or accidents,” says Dr. Phillips. “We understand where they’re coming from with their questions and that everything that they’re asking about is very important to them. So, I want to make sure they understand that it’s important to us, too, and that we’ve taken the time to spend with them and their kids.” Dr. Phillips sees children of all ages. Dr. Phillips is a mom and a pediatrician. She says having this firsthand experience helps with her job every day.
