Dr. Phillips joined Springfield Clinic in 2007. Dr. Phillips both earned her medical degree and completed her pediatrics residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. “I see mostly well-patient visits, so a lot of my time is spent talking to families about how to prevent illness or accidents,” says Dr. Phillips. “We understand where they’re coming from with their questions and that everything that they’re asking about is very important to them. So, I want to make sure they understand that it’s important to us, too, and that we’ve taken the time to spend with them and their kids.” Dr. Phillips sees children of all ages. Dr. Steh both earned her medical degree and completed her pediatrics residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. “I see kids from babies in the newborn nursery until they’re eighteen,” says Dr. Steh. “Because our patients are so small, it’s really a relationship between us providers and the parents. We try to achieve the same goal, which is optimal health for their child.” Dr. Steh provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment in pediatric and adolescent medicine for children of all ages. “Parents trust us with the care of their children, and nothing is more precious to a parent than that,” says Dr. Steh. “I’m privileged to provide care to their children. I really do enjoy what I do, and I want what’s best for their child. Dr. Castaldo joined Springfield Clinic in 1990. Dr. Castaldo both earned his medical degree and completed his pediatrics residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. “I deal in general pediatrics and everyday situations, but I try to have a balance between serious and fun,” says Dr. Castaldo. “I like that to compliment my practice. I take good care of my patients and make sure parents are well-informed and then sprinkle in some fun.” Dr. Castaldo’s scope of care includes comprehensive evaluation and treatment in pediatric and adolescent medicine. One fun element that Dr. Castaldo incorporates into his appointments is the ukelele. “It really makes kids feel like they’re bonding with us here,” he says. Dr. Castaldo plays upbeat songs and invites patients to try out the instrument for themselves, as well. In his free time, Dr. Castaldo loves spending time outdoors. He enjoys snowboarding, hiking, rollerblading, skiing and bike riding. He also enjoys listening to music and playing guitar.
