Zdenka Ena Segota, M.D., is a board-certified hematologist oncologist with the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Her clinical interests include breast cancer and hematologic malignancies such as lymphoma and myeloma. Dr. Segota has extensive research experience, putting her at the forefront of innovations in cancer care. During her career, she has served as principal investigator or sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials that have resulted in the development of many new oncology medications. These studies aim to improve patients’ pre-surgical and post-surgical outcomes as well as metastatic cancer survival rates. Dr. Segota earned her medical degree at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine in Croatia. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic Health System, Huron Hospital. Her extensive training also includes a hematology and medical oncology fellowship and experimental therapeutics research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, Taussig Cancer Institute. Dr. Segota enjoys connecting and interacting with her patients and believes that every person deserves to receive an individual approach to cancer care. She offers patients precision medicine through genomic testing. This type of testing identifies disease-associated variants to help match patients to more personalized therapies or assess a patient’s disease risk and help target more effective therapies. Dr. Segota speaks English and Croatian. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, renovating houses and spending time with her family.

Dr. Kareff has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums. When it comes to patient care, Dr. Kareff focuses on the whole patient, not simply the disease. While treatment goals and side effects are often the focus in the examination room, he strives to include a patient's caregivers and other loved ones in the cancer care journey. Patients can communicate with Dr. Kareff in English, Spanish and Portuguese. During his free time, he enjoys running, traveling with his family, and watching foreign and independent films.
