Matthen Mathew, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist at the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, with expertise in lung cancer, head and neck cancer, and benign hematology. Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Mathew was an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. Dr. Mathew earned his medical degree at University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was selected to be chief resident. He then completed fellowship training in hematology and medical oncology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ColumbiaUniversity Medical Center, where he was appointed chief fellow. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Mathew has extensive experience in clinical trials research and immuno-oncology. He has been the site principal investigator for large, national cooperative group studies and has also designed and implemented trials focused on advancing new and more effective treatments for patients. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mathew believes a multidisciplinary approach to treatment is crucial for cancer care. These studies aim to improve patients’ pre-surgical and post-surgical outcomes as well as metastatic cancer survival rates. Dr. Segota earned her medical degree at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine in Croatia. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic Health System, Huron Hospital. Her extensive training also includes a hematology and medical oncology fellowship and experimental therapeutics research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, Taussig Cancer Institute.
