Founded in 1970, The Walden School serves more than 250 students from prekindergarten through grade six. It is approved by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The school is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is located in Pasadena, Calif. Its campus includes more than 10 classrooms, science and technology laboratories, playgrounds and an art studio. The school also has a library that provides over 9,000 volumes of books. Its curriculum emphasizes on cooperative learning, flexible grouping and thematic units of study. The Walden School also conducts book fairs, auctions and other fundraising events.
