Burhop James W MD

James Burhop, MD, FACS, is a surgeon with Ascension Medical Group. Dr. Burhop is board-certified in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He provides surgical care to patients aged 14 and older. Dr. Burhop has a special interest in general, vascular, and colorectal surgery; breast surgery; bariatric surgery; minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery; wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He enjoys treating the wide range of problems encountered in a general surgery practice. He also finds it gratifying to know that he can treat diseases and speed up recovery after surgery by providing state-of-the-art techniques, such as advanced laparoscopic surgery, single-site laparoscopic surgery, and robotic surgery. Outside of the office, Dr. Burhop enjoys spending time with his family, participating in outdoor activities, and he is active in the military as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
