World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization, helping children and communities worldwide. Founded by Bob Pierce, the organization has been operational for more than 50 years. A nonprofit organization, it is headquartered in Federal Way, and has branch locations in Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Dallas, Los Angeles, Tacoma, Wash., St. Paul, Minn., Washington, D.C., Albany, Ga., and Picayune, Miss. World Vision also has international locations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Asia. The organization serves more than 1 million people annually, and provides access to clean water, food, education, health care and economic opportunities. It carries out a wide variety of relief programs and services, such as providing school supplies, clothes, toys, household goods, building supplies for neighborhoods, and organizational, planning and leadership tools. Additionally, World Vision offers tutoring solutions, life skills training and services for at-risk youth.
