Lakehaven Utility District provides water and sewer services to customers in Federal Way, Wash. Its water system includes 400 miles of mainline, wells and storage tanks with an approximate storage capacity of 31 million gallons. The average daily pumping rate is nearly 10 million gallons per day. The district s sewer system includes 350 miles of mainline, more than 25 pump stations and secondary wastewater treatment plants. Its wastewater treatment plants have been recognized with awards from the Washington State Department of Ecology and the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. Its Web site offers various resources, including water saving tips from American Water & Energy Savers, how to check for water leaks and water conservation activities.
