George Washington Memorial Parkway has been developed as a memorial to George Washington, and acts as a route to various scenic, historical and recreational settings. Various activities that can be done on the parkway are auto touring, parkway, biking, bird watching, boating, climbing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, interpretive programs, kayaking, nature walks and wildlife viewing. The parkway offers educational programs for children at Arlington House, Great Falls Park, Turkey Run Park, Theodore Roosevelt Island, the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and Netherlands Carillon, Fort Hunt Park, and Clara Barton. George Washington Memorial Parkway offers various types of instructive programs that teach children about nature and history, including junior range, mini rangers and ranger-led programs. The parkway is located in Mc Lean, Va.
