Dr. Raza A. Patel received his master’s degree in public health and his medical degree at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at SUNY at Buffalo at the Women and Children´s Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Patel is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology and has been clinical faculty at the University of Utah since 2011. Dr. Patel is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and is director of the Pediatric Endoscopy Unit where he provides advanced endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. He also staffs the Esophageal and Airway Center. His clinical and research interests include esophageal diseases and disorders. He has published many gastroenterology journal articles and book chapters.

Scott S. Short, MD, FACS, FAAP is an attending surgeon in the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic, and Neonatal Surgery at Primary Children’s Hospital. He has a particular interest in minimal access surgery, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), anorectal malformations, and Hirschsprung disease. Treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in children with emphasis on enhanced recovery is also an area of special interest in Dr. Short’s practice and academic work. Dr. Short sees patient’s at Primary Children’s Hospital - Salt Lake City , Eccles Outpatient clinic and at Primary Children’s Hospital - Lehi. One of his goals is to work with parents to optimize the surgical experience and shorten hospital stays for children.
