Scott S. Short, MD, FACS, FAAP is an attending surgeon in the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic, and Neonatal Surgery at Primary Children’s Hospital. He has a particular interest in minimal access surgery, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), anorectal malformations, and Hirschsprung disease. In addition, his daily clinical practice includes all common pediatric surgical problems including: Ulcerative Colitis Crohn’s disease anorectal malformations Hirschsprung Disease inguinal hernias umbilical hernias undescended testicles hydroceles feeding access (gastrostomy tube placement). cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder) gastroesophageal reflux disease appendectomy (removal of the appendix) chest wall deformities (pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum) vascular access (ports and central lines) Pediatric Oncologic surgery (Wilm’s, Neuroblastoma, and adrenal tumors/pancreas surgery). Dr. Short is a member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the PCPLC (Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium). Treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in children with emphasis on enhanced recovery is also an area of special interest in Dr. Short’s practice and academic work. Dr. Short sees patient’s at Primary Children’s Hospital - Salt Lake City , Eccles Outpatient clinic and at Primary Children’s Hospital - Lehi. One of his goals is to work with parents to optimize the surgical experience and shorten hospital stays for children.

Dr. Ohls received her medical degree from the University of Utah, where she also completed her residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Neonatology. After 23 years on faculty at the University of New Mexico, she returned to the University of Utah. She currently holds the August L. (Larry) Jung Endowed Chair and serves as Professor and Chief of Neonatology. For more than 35 years, Dr. Ohls has dedicated her clinical and research career to the care of critically ill preterm infants, with a particular focus on fetal and neonatal hematologic development, neonatal anemia, transfusions, and red cell growth factors. She has led numerous NIH- and foundation-funded studies and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles reporting the results of her clinical research. Dr. Ohls is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences and is widely recognized for her collaborative leadership, ethical insight, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of neonatologists. She is an active member of the University of Utah's Neo Heme Team, which advances neonatal transfusion stewardship and research in all aspects of neonatal hematology.

Dr. Sarah Cipriano is board certified in Dermatology and sub-specialty boarded in Pediatric Dermatology. She specializes in caring for pediatric patients with complex medical conditions and dedicates significant clinical time to hospitalized children at Primary Children’s Hospital. Dr. Cipriano collaborates closely with pediatric generalists and specialists to provide high-quality, compassionate care. In addition to her general pediatric dermatology clinics, Dr. Cipriano attends specialized clinics including pediatric dermatology/rheumatology, multidisciplinary tuberous sclerosis, and vascular anomalies. Her clinical interests encompass infantile hemangiomas, genetic skin disorders, blistering disorders, autoimmune dermatology, and severe atopic dermatitis. She enjoys working with patients from birth through adolescence. Dr. Cipriano serves as the Pediatric Dermatology Section Chief and Fellowship Director at the University of Utah Department of Dermatology. She is deeply passionate about medical education, actively contributing to both local and national educational efforts. She is the domain expert for dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Cipriano has played a pivotal role in promoting an equitable learning environment within the School of Medicine and Department of Dermatology. She was honored with the 2022 School of Medicine Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Award for her significant contributions in this area.
