Dr. Bartley Pickron is a recognized expert in the minimally invasive treatment of colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah who specializes in colon and rectal surgery. Clinical interests include single site laparoscopic and robotic surgery as well as the implementation of enhanced recovery protocols to minimize pain and recovery following surgery. Following medical school at the University of South Alabama, Dr. Pickron completed his General Surgery training at Atlanta Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Southern California and Norris Cancer Center. Dr. Pickron joined the University of Utah Health Care following 10 years of practice in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Pickron enjoys time outdoors particularly hiking, running, and cycling. He is an avid soccer fan. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and two children. Dr. Pickron is practicing at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University Hospital.

Dr. Kaiser earned both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her master’s degree in the history of medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After completing her medical degree at the University of Chicago, she moved to the University of Utah for her residency and fellowship in complex family planning. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Kaiser is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. She is the Ryan Residency Program Director and the Director of the Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic. Dr. Kaiser’s research interests are varied and include novel contraceptives, miscarriage management, surgical education, and the history of women’s health. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and camping with her family, knitting, and cooking.
