Russell Park, situated on the picturesque west side of Georgetown Lake in the Texas Hill Country, offers a serene escape approximately 25 miles north of Austin. Visitors are treated to a variety of outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, and exploring the scenic San Gabriel River Trail.
This year-round park features 27 primitive campsites equipped with drinking water and flush toilets, with ten sites offering screened shelters containing bunk beds. Additionally, guests can unwind at the Swim Beach and Day Use Area, although it is closed annually from November to March.
Georgetown Lake, a reservoir created in 1979, not only serves as a vital resource for the local community but also provides abundant recreational opportunities. Great beach access area to Lake Georgetown-we really love coming here. $5 per car to get in if you're headed to swim. Plenty of parking, but this place does fill up super fast so I'd plan to get...

Nice beach access area to swim in Lake Georgetown. The beach is made of small pebbles and they get hot and are rough on the feet after a while. Definitely recommend wearing swim shoes. On a summer...
