Peggy's mom was born here in the Texas Hill Country and has always been a getaway for us. As we matured in our occupations, we searched for our next adventure and decided to move to Utopia, build a bed and breakfast and a wood shop.
Bend O' the River Bed & Breakfast is our home. We have 3 bedrooms with private baths upstairs that we open for guests. Each room has a king bed and night stands with reading lamps. 1 room is a suite with a sitting area, TV, larger bathroom with jetted tub and walk in shower. Public areas include the loft outside the 3 rooms with a table for games. Mexican Train, card games, or reading in a comfy chair. Outdoors there are two patios, one covered, with a table you can bring snacks/wine and visit, the other has 4 zero gravity chairs for star gazing and a fire pit to use. The Sabinal River is a short walk from our back yard. Recently we built a hen house and have chicks in it that are fun to watch. Around 8:30 we serve a full breakfast. Most of our guests are hikers, bikers, birders, river tubers or attending an event in the area. If the weather is bad we have a variety of reading material and there's usually a jigsaw puzzle in the process you can work on. We have a quiet, relaxing home. Kerrville, Fredericksburg and even San Antonio are day trips with Utopia as base.
