Adam M. Freedhand, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint reconstruction with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgical techniques, including direct anterior hip replacement and partial and total knee replacement. He went on to serve as a staff orthopedic surgeon at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, and Naval Hospital Jacksonville in Florida. He then completed fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at UTHealth Houston. Shupe is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is actively involved in the orthopedic community. He serves locally as the vice chair of orthopedic surgery at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and nationally on committees for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Outside of work, Shupe enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, exercising, watching movies, and traveling.
