Jay Schwartz joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in February 2015, following a 20-year career in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, where he attained the rank of MAJ. Jay understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away. Jay has a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of South Dakota and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the Army / Baylor University Master's Program. He holds Series 60, 63, 65, SIE securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Gary North joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in September 2018, following a 1994-2011-year career in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Captain. Gary has a Bachelor's degree in Religion and Philosophy from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master's degree in Business from American Intercontinental University. He holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Tennessee and Kentucky. Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Gary serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. His thorough knowledge of military pay and benefits enables him to advise clients on how to navigate the Blended Retirement System, properly allocate their contributions to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and take full advantage of other benefits.
