Zach Walden joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in January 2009. Gary understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away. Gary has a Bachelor's degree in Religion and Philosophy from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master's degree in Business from American Intercontinental University. He holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Tennessee and Kentucky. Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Gary serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. His thorough knowledge of military pay and benefits enables him to advise clients on how to navigate the Blended Retirement System, properly allocate their contributions to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and take full advantage of other benefits. A graduate of Walden University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Kourtney holds Series 7 & 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, & Washington. Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Kourtney serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. She advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk.
