Crazy Horse Memorial is a mountain monument, and is located in Crazy Horse, S.D. The work was begun in 1948 by sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski at the request of Native Americans. It has the Sculptor s Studio, as well as a new 40,000-square-foot orientation center. The Crazy Horse Memorial education center offers theater style seating for more than 250 people; breakout and small group rooms; restaurant and food service on premises; and reception, banquet and buffet capabilities. Its gift shop offers clothing for adults and children, books, audiovisual materials, postcards, bookstore and cookbooks.
