Great bagels and service. Staff was smiling to greet me when I came in. I ordered breakfast bagel with sausage. The order out fast. My husband really enjoyed it.

History
South St Philly Bagels, Inc. opened its doors in the snow storm of 1996. Working in the bagel business since 1971, Michael Wagner decided to bring the family recipe to Philadelphia. Mike learned how to produce the dough, hand forming each bagel, and baking each bagel from his Brooklyn raised father-in-law, a member of the now dissolved Bagel Bakers Union. The tradition of bagel baking has been going strong for five generations now, continuing a time honored tradition.

We are a family-owned and operated bagel bakery committed to bringing fresh bagels to our community every day. All of our bagels are made on premises from scratch, using unbleached and unbromated flour, without preservatives. Our bagels are made in the traditional New York bagel baking style - boiled in a kettle first, then baked on burlap covered wooden boards. We strive to bring the utmost in freshness and quality-from our family to yours.
