Khaled Nashar, MD Khaled Nashar, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF, is AHN’s chief of nephrology and hypertension. He sees patients through AHN Nephrology Associates at the Northside and Wexford offices. He is also the training program director for the AHN Nephrology Fellowship. Dr. Nashar's areas of interest include chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and transplant nephrology. Dr. Nashar has several peer-reviewed publications and has given presentations at national nephrology, transplant, and hypertension meetings. Dr Nashar has been an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation and recognized as a fellow of both societies. He has also been very active in community services. As chair of the medical advisory committee of the National Kidney Foundation, he volunteers regularly at NKF community events. Dr. Nashar sees patients at AHN Allegheny General, AHN West Penn, and Wexford Hospitals. He received a medical degree from the Aleppo University School of Medicine in Aleppo, Syria. He completed a residency and a fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in both internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is also a certified Hypertension specialist.

Laurie W Mathie, MD Dr. Mathie is a rheumatology specialist who provides preventive care and expert diagnosis of excessive inflammation throughout of the body that can lead to complications of the skin, eyes, organs, joints, muscles, and bones. She routinely treats pain, swelling, and stiffness stemming from arthritis, other musculoskeletal conditions, and systemic autoimmune diseases. Dr. Mathie earned her medical degree from Hahnemann School of Medicine, part of the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also completed residency. Additionally, she completed a rheumatology fellowship through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mathie is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Pennsylvania Medical Society. She is available to see patients in Wexford and North Fayette.

Holly Lowther, MD Holly Lowther, MD, is a rheumatologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of rheumatic diseases. She is skilled in managing conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis, arthritis, gout, lupus, myositis, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, and vasculitis. Dr. Lowther earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at UPMC Mercy and a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology. Dr. Lowther welcomes patients ages 18 and older.
