HistoryStoller Vineyards is situated on a 373 acre property in the Dundee Hills AVA in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The land has been in the Stoller family since the 1940's, when it served as one of the largest turkey farms in Oregon. By 1993, the turkey industry was coming to its end in Oregon, so Bill and Cathy Stoller purchased the farm from his uncle and began the process of turning the farm into a world-class vineyard. They recognized the land's great vineyard potential given its rocky, well-drained Jory soils, elevation band (300 to 650 feet) ideal for grape production, and southern aspect. The first Stoller vintage was crafted at Chehalem Winery in 2001. By late 2005, the Stoller winery was completed and recognized as the first LEED certified winery in the United States achieving the rare gold designation. It is solar powered and designed to be a gravity flow winery to minimize manipulation of the wines and environmental impact.SpecialtiesAt Stoller, our roots run deep. The family established the property in 1943 and the vineyard fifty years later. Today, we are the largest contiguous vineyard in Oregon's Dundee Hills, and our fruit is 100% estate grown. We control every step of the process, from pruning to bottling and everything in between. The result is award-winning wines that are balanced, complex, and consistently exceptional. Much has changed from the original farm, but one thing remains constant: our pioneering spirit. Our winery is the first in in the world to receive LEED Gold certification, attesting that our winery is sustainably built and environmentally friendly. We constantly seek new ways to refine and protect our legacy, so that it can thrive for generations to come. Awarded 2014 Northwest Winery of the Year by Wine Press Northwest, Oregon's Best Tasting Room by USA Today, and one of Oregon's Most Admired Companies by the Portland Business Journal.
