They recognized the land's great vineyard potential given its rocky, well-drained Jory soils, elevation band (300 to 650 feet) ideal for grape production, and southern aspect. The first Stoller vintage was crafted at Chehalem Winery in 2001. By late 2005, the Stoller winery was completed and recognized as the first LEED certified winery in the United States achieving the rare gold designation.
