Both my parents were doctors, and I grew up in India watching them practice medicine with great love. They inspired me to go into medicine, too. \n I care for my patients in a holistic way. I strive to offer compassionate, personalized care while using the latest evidence-based medicine. \n I am a member of both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatric Nephrology. \n When not taking care of patients, I love spending time with my family and traveling.

Medicine allows me to help others while fulfilling my interest in teaching. I always loved science in school and was drawn to a career in medicine for the opportunity to help others. \n Working in pediatrics was my goal before even starting medical school. I fell in love with endocrinology early in medical school, and that interest was confirmed during my residency. I was fortunate to be trained by leaders of the field during fellowship. Every day, I continue to learn more about this intriguing, evolving field. \n I am Novant Health's medical director for pediatric endocrinology in Charlotte. Our team is made up of physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, diabetes educators and dietitians working together to provide the best multidisciplinary care for our patients. \n In addition, I served on the board of directors of the Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes for a decade and was medical director of the sports camp from 2009 to 2014. \n I am a native of Jacksonville, Florida and completed both my residency and fellowship at the University of Florida where I met my wife. After completing fellowship, I stayed at the University of Florida as a faculty member of the pediatric endocrinology team from 2009 to 2022. \n Our family moved to Charlotte in 2022, and my wife and I both joined Novant Health as providers. \n We enjoy so much of what Charlotte has to offer, including pro sports teams, concerts and local entertainment. We also enjoy traveling near and far.

Ever since I was young, I've been interested in helping people. My mother was an early elementary school teacher for 40 years, and I share her joy in taking care of children. I played a number of sports growing up and played Division III basketball in college. In medical school, I realized that pediatric sports medicine was the perfect combination of things I'm passionate about. \n My approach to healthcare recognizes the difficulties posed by injury and pain, and the impact both can have on kids' lives. I work to help kids and their parents understand their diagnosis and help them be active participants in recovery. I'm a firm believer in exercise as medicine and hope to help kids stay physically active. That helps lay the foundation for a physically healthy life. \n After pediatric residency, I completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine and remain an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. \n In service to my local community, I volunteer as a board member of Pineville Neighbors Place, a local nonprofit that helps support our community with food, furniture and financial assistance for those in need. \n I'm proud to be the father of three amazing children, and I'm lucky to be married to my best friend. My wife trained as a mental health counselor and now works as a certified personal trainer and running coach. We love spending time together, and that includes playing games as a family, exercising and watching sports.
