This nicely maintained historical marker is at the center of Downtown Lexington in front of the County Courthouse. The building itself is beautiful but was not open for tours at the time I passed...

The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) has been dedicated to advancing the independence and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1953. Serving over 500 individuals across several parishes, the organization provides a variety of support services, including family support coordination, community integration, and employment services.
Through its initiatives, ArcGNO aims to empower individuals to live their fullest potential while promoting independence and self-reliance. Their social enterprises, such as Paragon Industries, also offer wage-earning jobs, helping to foster greater community acceptance and celebration of individuals with disabilities.
