HistoryKaori Stram, LMHC, graduated from NYU with master's degree in counseling and has worked as a counselor/psychotherapist at a variety of settings including not-for-profit organization, community out patient clinic, college counseling center, and trauma treatment center before starting her own practice in 2011.SpecialtiesSpecialty areas are anxiety, panic, depression, insomnia, PTSD, interpersonal trauma such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood sexual/physical abuse. Therapy style is collaborative and relational, and is informed by a healing-oriented, emotion-focused, attachment-based psychotherapy model called AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), with emphasis on mindfulness & compassion practices.

Our practice style is warm, compassionate, and authentic. Our values guide our work. We care deeply about providing you with the highest quality therapy, and we strongly believe that therapy should not be reserved for the few who can afford it.

The expertise of our integrative team is diverse in order to provide you or your loved one wrap-around support because we know that “it takes a village.” The approaches our team utilizes include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic (Insight-Oriented) Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). These different modalities are integrated to create the optimal treatment or learning plan customized to address each person’s unique experiences, wants, needs, and goals. We are all individuals and there is no one-size fits all approach.
