Manhattan Youth Recreation and Resources offers programs and activities to the children and families during nonschool hours. It is a non-profit agency supported by public funds and private fees. It organizes special events at day camp, such as crazy hat day, camp carnival, camp night out and camp plays. It offers rental space for pool parties to celebrate any occasion for children and adults. It provides swimming lessons for children, open swim for families, parent and child swim, senior swim, pool rentals and parties. The Downtown Basketball League teaches the game of basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship through clinics and game play. Its free senior swim consists of open swim and a low-impact water aerobics class.
