Herkimer Area Resource Center

The Herkimer Area Resource Center, founded 1969, offers a wide range of services for the individuals with developmental, physical and psychiatric disabilities, and it also provides family support services. It is a family-based, nonprofit community organization, offering developmental program that includes nutritious meals, and medical, dental, vision, speech and hearing therapies. The organization provides various programs, such as outpatient counseling, parenting education program, employee assistance program, therapeutic care, and home health care and hospice services. In addition, the organization provides residential care, education, employement, family support, guardinaship, individual support, medical and nursing care, and recreational and transportation services. The Herkimer Area Resource Center also provides justice, public recognition and fair treatment to the mentally impaired people under the criminal law of the United States. It is a member of the New York State Association for Retarded Children, and is located in Herkimer, N.Y.
