The Church of the Guardian Angel, a Roman Catholic parish located at 193 Tenth Avenue in New York City, was originally founded in 1888 to serve the seafaring community near the Hudson River. In 1930, the church was relocated to its current site due to the construction of the High Line, with a new building designed in the Southern Sicilian Romanesque style by architect John V. Van Pelt.
The church features a striking brick and limestone facade adorned with bas-relief sculptures depicting events from the early life of Christ. Additionally, it houses a notable organ built in 1930 by Geo. Kilgen & Son, which includes a two-manual console and a variety of stops, enhancing the church's musical offerings.
