Established in 1974, Ballet Tech is a New York City public school for children of grades four to 12, offering students free academic education and ballet training. During the first year of training, transportation is provided while students attend ballet classes on a school-time release program. Upon entering, the talented fourth grade students are invited to attend The New York City Public School for Dance. The New York City Public School for Dance is collaboration between Ballet Tech and the NYC Department of Education. Kids Dance is Ballet Tech's pre-professional student troupe.
