Michelle Bender, MD, FAAP, joined Summit Health in 1996. Dr. Bender is Former Chair of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Group. Dr. Bender says, "Since I was little I have known that I wanted to be a physician who works with children. I enjoy developing plans that are tailored to and meet the needs of each of my patients and their families. In addition to giving practical advice, I strive to provide comprehensive care for each of our families."Dr. Bender is a board member for Intensive Therapeutics, a nonprofit, charitable organization that provides group and individual occupational therapy for children with special needs. She has been featured in New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kids' Docs" listings, New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors" listings, and Millburn-Short Hills "Super Docs" listings.When she is not working with her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys reading, cycling, and traveling.

He is the recipient of numerous research grants (including prestigious funding from the NIH), serves on the editorial board of several electrophysiology journals (including Heart Rhythm, published by the Heart Rhythm Society) and is currently on the electrophysiology subcommittee of the American Board of Internal Medicine preparing board questions for his peers. He is a fellow in several professional societies including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He currently serves as President of the International Society of Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology.Dr. Steinberg has been recognized by his peers as a Top Doctor in New York Magazine for numerous years, and was the only New Jersey electrophysiologist selected in 2016. He has been similarly recognized by New Jersey Monthly, Inside New Jersey, Super Doctors and Castle Connolly.
