Francis P. Prior, MD, FACC, has expertise in a wide range of cardiovascular problems, including atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias, Cardiovascular diseasess, coronary artery disease, heart disease prevention, hypertension, and lipid disorders.In addition to his position with Essex Heart Group (formerly GMP Cardiology) of Summit Health, Dr. Prior is Former Director and Former Attending Physician of Saint Michael's Medical Center Echocardiography Laboratory in Newark, New Jersey. He has practice privately with General Internal Medicine Associates of Montclair, Montclair Cardiology, and Montclair Medical Group. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology.When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Prior enjoys spending time with his wife and children. In addition to attending his children's baseball games, he enjoys sports and golfing. He is interested Irish history and Irish culture.

Marianna Shimelfarb, MD specializes in Integrative Family Medicine. Before joining Summit Health Family Medicine Department, she served as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), NY. She is also a teaching faculty at the Interdisciplinary Integrative Medicine Fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and at the Holistic Family Nurse Practitioner track at the New York University College of Nursing. Dr. Shimelfarb is a recipient of several teaching awards, including Preceptor of the Year Award at the NYU College of Nursing.As an Integrative Family Physician, Dr. Shimelfarb has a passion for providing quality care for the entire family with an integrative approach. She practices patient-centered care and uses her knowledge of alternative evidence-based treatments in combination with her training as an allopathic physician.

Jonathan S. Steinberg, MD joins Summit Health as the Director, Summit Health Arrhythmia Center and Director, Cardiac Clinical Trials and Education.Dr. Steinberg specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, and has an international reputation for diagnosis of complex arrhythmic conditions and expertise in catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Steinberg has an extensive clinical and research track record in the field, having practiced for more than 25 years. His past accomplishments include founding the Arrhythmia Institute at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, where he also serviced as Director of the Division of Cardiology, and the Arrhythmia Institute at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He is the lead editor of the electrophysiology textbook, A Practical Guide to Catheter Ablation of AF. He has led or participated in hundreds of research studies in his area of expertise, and has authored more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed high-profile publications.Dr. Steinberg is currently a Professor of Medicine (adj) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and formerly Professor of Medicine at Columbia University. He is the recipient of numerous research grants (including prestigious funding from the NIH), serves on the editorial board of several electrophysiology journals (including Heart Rhythm, published by the Heart Rhythm Society) and is currently on the electrophysiology subcommittee of the American Board of Internal Medicine preparing board questions for his peers. He is a fellow in several professional societies including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He currently serves as President of the International Society of Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology.Dr. Steinberg has been recognized by his peers as a Top Doctor in New York Magazine for numerous years, and was the only New Jersey electrophysiologist selected in 2016. He has been similarly recognized by New Jersey Monthly, Inside New Jersey, Super Doctors and Castle Connolly.
