Before joining Summit Health, Bernadette Parga, PA, practiced with First Care Medical Group in Verona and Lyndhurst, and WellCome Care in Garfield, New Jersey. Ms. Parga also has practiced with University Medical Professionals in Union, New Jersey. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants.To her credit, Ms. Parga has volunteered for Saint John's Clinic, an urban health care facility in New Brunswick and Broadway House Long-term Care Facility in Newark. She also has volunteered for the The College of New Jersey Special Olympics in Trenton, and Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen in Newark.Ms. Parga became a PA because of her interest in medicine and her desire to help others. She says, "Being a PA allows me to care for others, address my patients' medical problems, and still have time to develop meaningful relationships with my patients and colleagues." She adds, "I want most to continue learning and becoming a better practitioner so that I can give my patients the best care possible. I believe that treating each of my patients as a whole person rather than focusing only on his or her condition or disease makes it possible to deliver comprehensive care that can sometimes make all the difference in a patient's outcomes."

After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Health Studies from Monmouth University, she continued her education, earning a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Gabriella has a strong interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery and is very eager to work alongside our surgeons. Joseph Nachef, PA-C is a member of Summit Healths Urgent Care team. Mr. Nachef joined Summit Health based on their strong patient-first commitment. The mantra of patient centered medicine is how I was trained. Finding a group that practiced in that same manner was important to me. Every patient deserves focused attention on their needs and concerns, says Mr. Nachef.Before joining Summit Health, Mr. Nachef worked in a primary care setting in Essex County caring for a variety of patients with both chronic and acute conditions. In addition to his PA degree in medicine, he holds another advanced degree in molecular biology and uses his diverse training to help promote the health goals of his patients. This diversified background inspires him to research the most practical options for each individual and to think outside of the box when considering solutions and potential treatments. Mr. Nachef is also motivated to spend time educating his patients during visits to empower them to make the best possible medical decisions.He is also a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants.When hes not practicing, Mr. Nachef enjoys promoting the PA profession and the sciences by teaching at local universities and mentoring future PAs. He enjoys cooking, cycling, working out, traveling, listening to podcasts, and spending quality time with his family.
