The American Burma Buddhist Association (ABBA) is dedicated to promoting Burmese Buddhist traditions through the establishment of the Lokachantha Universal Peace Pagoda and a meditation center in Manalapan, New Jersey. Inspired by the Great Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma, this facility serves as a spiritual sanctuary and cultural hub for the local Buddhist community.

Since its inception in 1982, ABBA has successfully organized various meditation retreats and religious activities, fostering a tranquil environment for the practice of Insight Meditation (Vipassana). The pagoda and meditation center, which took a decade to complete, officially opened its doors on May 28, 2017, and continues to welcome individuals seeking spiritual growth and community engagement.
