Centrec stands for Center for Treatment Rehabilitation Education and Counseling. It is an outpatient behavioral health facility approved by JCAHO for treatment of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. It was founded in 1986 by Mohammed A. Kabir, M.D., now a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.Centrec's treatment modality of partial hospitalization ( receiving treatment during the day while staying at home at night ) has made it possible for many patients to recover from illness with intensive, quality care received at the facility. Centrec not only addresses problem as they occur, but also educates patients to individual vulnerabilities to illness by bringing in focus stressors that might surface later in life. Thus learning to heal other existing deficiencies along with the presenting problem, an individual makes an investment in his/her medical as well as long-term psychological well-being.

The WISH (Women and Infant Substance Help) Center at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis provide comprehensive, high-risk maternity care for women who are dependent on opioids and other drugs. It is the only facility of its kind in the St. Louis region.
