121 Cadet St
Biloxi, MS 39530

Point Cadet Marker in Biloxi, Mississippi, is a historical site that encompasses the eastern tip of the Biloxi Peninsula. Named after Jacques Mathurin Ladner II, the first documented landowner, Point Cadet was sparsely populated until the establishment of Biloxi's seafood industry in the late 19th century. It quickly grew into a small town with homes, schools, businesses, churches, and a branch post office, largely influenced by Croatian and French workers who dominated the seafood industry.

Over time, Point Cadet experienced various changes and transitions, including the decline of dockside canneries due to new technologies and the devastating impact of Hurricane Camille in 1969. However, the area saw further development in the 1980s, focusing on historical and marine educational attractions, a marina, and the opening of Biloxi's first dockside casino in 1992. Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina in 2005 caused significant destruction to Point Cadet, altering its landscape once again.

Just a nice little splash pad near the bay. There's a large pavilion with ceiling fans that offers a little shelter from the sun. Good place for kids to go cool off. Scenery is kinda nice too.

This park is sketchy AF. We are staying at a hotel nearby so we took our 2.5 year old daughter for a little bit. In the less than 10 minutes we were there multiple cars came through the parking...
