Grand Bay Nerr

The Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR), established in 1999 and managed by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, encompasses approximately 18,000 acres of diverse ecosystems, including pine savannas, salt marshes, bays, and unique coastal terrestrial habitats. As part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Estuarine Research Reserve System, it aims to inspire community engagement in ecosystem conservation through leadership in science and outreach.
