Lake Region Electric Cooperative

Lake Region Electric Cooperative is a member-owned, member-controlled electric utility that is located in Pelican Rapids, Minn., with an outpost facility in Ottertail, Minn. The electric distribution cooperative has more than 23,000 rural customers primarily in Ottertail and Wilkin counties, as well as portions of Becker, Clay, Grant, Douglas, Todd and Wadena counties in Minnesota. Lake Region Electric has nearly 5,400 miles of owned power lines in its system, and approximately 3,200 square-miles of service territory. The cooperative s services include energy management services, water heating, dual fuel space heating, storage heating, short-term storage and electric thermal storage. Lake Region Electric is a member of Great River Energy, a generation and transmission cooperative that is owned by 28 distribution cooperatives.
