After 12 years of producing and directing Motor City Tap Fest, Denise Caston-Clark moved back to Michigan from New York City to launch Tap Dance Detroit! She is excited to serve the metropolitan Detroit community.

Specialties

Founded by former Radio City Rockette Denise Caston-Clark, Tap Dance Detroit offers daily drop-in classes for all levels of adults from beginners to working professionals. We also offer jazz and other specialty fitness. Stop by any time and take classes from our daily schedule. We offer a youth tap program dedicated to young movers 2-10 years old, running in 6-8 week sessions to allow greater flexibility. Classes at Tap Dance Detroit are taught by professional tap dancers and tap dance educators fully committed to each individual's development, training and enjoyment of the art form. The Caston-Clark Tap Dance Foundation is dedicated to preserving and advancing the art form of tap dance through education and performances.

HistoryIn 2016, burlesque performers Miss Holly Hock founded the Detroit School of Burlesque. Together, she and Leena Allure spend months developing comprehensive curriculum for the school. They saw an interest in learning the art of burlesque and a need for a body positive, empowering environment in the community. They started with an introductory burlesque course and not only did the students gain burlesque skills and knowledge but friendships were formed, self esteem was raised, women were supporting each other in a truly inspiring way.SpecialtiesThe Detroit School of Burlesque provides a body positive environment for students to learn the art of the tease.
