History

In 2016, burlesque performers Miss Holly Hock founded the Detroit School of Burlesque. Together, she and Leena Allure spend months developing comprehensive curriculum for the school. They saw an interest in learning the art of burlesque and a need for a body positive, empowering environment in the community. They started with an introductory burlesque course and not only did the students gain burlesque skills and knowledge but friendships were formed, self esteem was raised, women were supporting each other in a truly inspiring way.

Specialties

The Detroit School of Burlesque provides a body positive environment for students to learn the art of the tease. The School also hosts a variety of other non-burlesque classes, including Yoga, Bellydance, Barre, and more.
