Focus: HOPE, founded by William Cunningham, is a civil and human rights organization. Located in Detroit, the organization has been operational for more than 40 years. It develops supplemental food programs and provides employment opportunities and educational and training programs. The organization s Machinist Training Institute offers skills development in precision machining and metalworking to more than 3,000 people annually. Its first step program helps students improve their reading and math skills, four- and seven-week sessions, information technologies center, and special classes for manufacturing engineers. Additionally, Focus: HOPE provides industry-certified training in network administration and desktop and server administration in collaboration with industry partners, including Cisco, Microsoft, and the Computer Technology Industry Association.
