Dr. David M. Yousem is the associate dean for professional development in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. He specializes in neuroimaging.Dr. Yousem received his B.S. and M.D. degrees at the University of Michigan. He completed a radiology residency at Johns Hopkins and a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.B.A. at Johns Hopkins University in 2003.Dr. Yousem's expertise spans the full gamut of neuroradiology techniques including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), angiography, myelography, CT guided aspirations and biopsies, functional MRI, diffusion and perfusion imaging, MR/CT angiography, and 3-D reconstructions. He is a noted authority on disorders of the brain, spine, head and neck, olfaction, cranial neuropathies and neurodegeneration.Dr. Yousem has authored or edited four books—Neuroradiology: THE REQUISITES, Head and Neck Case Review, and Radiology Business Practice: How to Succeed, and Non-Interpretive Skills Case Review, all published by Mosby/Elsevier—and has edited four journal issues. This is currently used by residency programs across the country to fulfill ACGME requirements for business of radiology content.He served as President of the American Society of Neuroradiology in 2008-2009 and as the Secretary of Treasurer of the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies from 2011 to present. He sits on many of national radiological societies committees.Dr. Yousem has completed two marathons (best time: 3 hours, 54 minutes), a half Ironman, and a full Ironman (2.5-mile swim followed by 112-mile bike ride and then a 26-mile run) competition.

Dr. Ulrike M. Hamper is a Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. She also holds appointments in the Department of Pathology and Department of Urology.Her clinical interests include image-guided interventional procedures and encompass the entire spectrum of sonographic studies. These include vascular, OB/GYN, abdominal, genitourinary, pediatric and musculoskeletal ultrasound, as well as imaging of the thyroid, neck and scrotum.Dr. Hamper earned her medical degree at Germany’s Thesis University of Bonn. She completed a pathology residency at the University of Cologne and a rotating medical/surgical internship at Bonn’s Malteser Hospital—both also in Germany. At The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Hamper completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowship in ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine and cardiovascular radiology.She also holds a Master of Science in Business degree and an M.B.A. in medical services management, both from Johns Hopkins University.Dr. Hamper has published scores of articles, conducted approximately 20 funded research studies and presented nearly 100 invited lectures.

Dr. Constance L. Monitto is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her clinical work focuses on intraoperative anesthetic management of pediatric patients as well as attending on the pediatric acute pain service.She serves as associate clinical director of pediatric anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.Dr. Monitto received her undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University and earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed a residency in pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital, Boston, and a residency in anesthesia at Massachusetts General Hospital. She also completed a subspecialty residency in pediatric anesthesia at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). After remaining on staff at CHOP for two years, Dr. Monitto joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1994.Dr. Monitto's clinical research interest is pediatric pain management and her basic science research involves assessing the impact of epigenetic gene regulation on the development of resistance to chemotherapeutic agents in cancer.She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and the International Anesthesia Research Society.
