Dr. Pimenta is a hospitalist and radiologist with significant experience in clinical care, research and health management work. Dr. Pimenta currently works as a hospitalist with Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center and at the National Institutes of Health. Her research work utilizes imaging, populational studies and artificial intelligence to better understand the interface between cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. On the managerial front, she leads quality improvement efforts to strengthen the delivery of care at the hospital and at the system levels. For more than a decade, Dr. Pimenta served as a health sector specialist with the World Bank Group where she led projects to support economic policy reform within developing countries. Dr. Pimenta has a residency in internal medicine from The Johns Hopkins Hospital, a residency in radiology from University of Sao Paulo and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
