Eric B. Lieberman, M.D., is a cardiologist with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Heart Care and Suburban Hospital, where he previously served as chief of the Division of Cardiology.Dr. Lieberman has expertise in angiography, angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, high cholesterol, interventional cardiology, preventive cardiology, smoking cessation, and coronary and valvular heart disease. Dr. Lieberman earned his medical degree from Emory University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Duke University School of Medicine. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Lieberman served as a Major in the United States Air Force. He was an attending cardiologist for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, as well as the director of cardiology research and the medical director of the cardiology clinic. During this time, Dr. Lieberman earned the United States Navy Commendation Medal. Dr. Lieberman currently is a member of Suburban Hospital's Cardiology Product Review Committee and Interventional Cardiology Quality Review Committee. He was previously on the Physician Advisory Council. Dr. Lieberman was also previously the medical director of Holy Cross Hospital's cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Lieberman is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, as well as the secretary and treasurer of the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and a member of The Maryland State Medical Society. Dr. Lieberman has been repeatedly named a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine, a Best Doctor by Washington Consumers' Checkbook and a Super Doctor by the Washington Post magazine. He has also been named a Top Doctor in the Washington-Baltimore area by Castle Connolly. Dr. Lieberman has been a principal investigator on several cardiology clinical trials. Rani K. Hasan, M.D., M.H.S., is an attending interventional cardiologist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Suburban Hospital, as well as an assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also earned a Master of Health Science degree in clinical investigation from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and served as chief fellow in the Division of Cardiology.Dr. Hasan serves on the telemetry subcommittee of the High Value Care Committee at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Hasan is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology. His research interests include the impacts of frailty and delirium among elderly patients undergoing cardiac procedures, and improving outcomes following interventional cardiac procedures. He is the principal investigator on a study of frailty among patients undergoing TAVR and is working to establish a database of TAVR patients at Johns Hopkins Medicine to develop collaborative research projects based on their data. Dr. Hasan has also provided clinical instruction in the classroom and instructs interventional cardiology fellows and general cardiology fellows on the cardiac catheterization rotation at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He has received numerous research awards, such as the Henry Denison Strong Research Award from Johns Hopkins University, the Cancer Research Training Award from the National Institutes of Health, and the Johns Hopkins Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center Research and Career Development Core Award.
