Ian Pitha MD, PhD

Dr. Michele A. Manahan is a professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a plastic surgeon practicing reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breasts, face, abdomen and extremities. Dr. Manahan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated as valedictorian from Norcross High School. She attended Harvard University and graduated in three years, obtaining summa cum laude honors. She was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Manahan earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is a member of the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. She completed a combined residency in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins/University of Maryland. She serves in national leadership positions in medical organizations such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and state leadership positions in medical organizations such as the Maryland State Medical Society (MedChi), of which she was president and speaker of its House of Delegates. Her passion is patient care. She is dedicated to providing the highest levels of plastic surgical techniques, including microvascular and other breast reconstruction with oncoplastic techniques and aesthetics. Dr. Manahan is actively researching operative methods to maximize results and minimize complications. She has published multiple book chapters and scientific papers in national peer-reviewed journals. She performs all aspects of plastic surgery with a special focus on the unification of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast.

Henry D. Jampel, M.D., M.H.S., is the Odd Fellows Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He specializes in glaucoma and serves as the medical director of Wilmer's Green Spring Station location. His research interests include evaluation of medical vs. surgical treatment of glaucoma in newly diagnosed patients and on imaging devices for the detection of glaucoma and its progression.Dr. Jampel received his M.D. degree from Yale University and his M.H.S. in health finance and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital and his residency in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. After completing a glaucoma fellowship in glaucoma at Wilmer, Dr. Jampel joined the faculty in 1988.

Dr. Kleinberg specializes in the radiation treatments, including stereotactic radiosurgery, of brain and spinal tumors. Areas of research include both tumors arising in the central nervous system and tumors metastasizing from other locations. He also specializes in the treatment of esophageal tumors and has led national clinical trials in both therapy of brain tumors as well as esophageal cancer.Dr. Kleinberg has been recently named in the US News and World Report list of top 1% of doctors in his specialty. He is the co-chair of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Brain Tumor Working Group, Vice-Chair of the NCI Cooperative Group Steering Committee for Esophageal and Gastric Tumors, and is a member of the NCI Cooperative Group Steering Committee for Gastrointestinal Tumors. He is also on the American College of Radiation Oncology Neurologic Cancer Practice Accreditation Team.Make A Gift
